I'm personally open to trying the dub of anything, but I won't hesitate to switch to sub if it's terrible.

Some EXCELLENT dubs, in my humble opinion, are FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist, Trinity Blood, etc. There are also shows I'll watch in dub purely because it seems weird to watch the setting/characters in Japanese, like Chrono Crusade, which takes place in 1920's America. I like pretty much anything FUNimation puts out, as an aside.

Dubs like DNAngel and Gurren Lagann have me itching to become a purist, though. UGH.

lawl I normally try the dub first...if its horrible I'll switch.
BUT i watch most of my anime via internet (which isnt alot though) and its normally subbed. so it's always weird switching to dubs

I hated the trinity blood dub at first because i was used to the series in japanese and their voices are so different xD
I got used to it but I still prefer Esthers japanese voice actress, personally >n<

Haha, Trinity Blood was my second anime ever (after Bleach) and I only saw it because it was on in the slot before the Bleach dub, on Adult Swim. I'm glad I did, because I was hooked from the beginning. xD I liked Esther's voice for the most part, I was excited to meet Colleen at Tandokucon because of it, but I agree she wasn't the most shining performance in that dub. I ADORE Abel's voice. xD I've never known anything different than the dub, so I can't really say I like the dub *better*, but I certainly enjoy it.

Now that Hulu's becoming popular, it's easier to see dubs--plus FUNimation now streams them from their site and YouTube, that's how I've been seeing their new Soul Eater dub. xD I just watched parts of the GL dub and practically laughed, it was so comically awful.

For me, it has a lot to do with which one I watch first. In high school I had less availability to watch subbed anime, so I was mostly limited to what was playing on CN/AS. So, things like Fullmetal Alchemist and Rurouni Kenshin I grew up with the dub, so once I've already associated a character with a certain voice, I generally won't watch or like the other since I'm used to what I first saw. More recently I watch purely subbed because *in general* the voice acting is better--- and it's what's out first! So, I usually watch subs and wince at hearing dubbed versions (even if they're aren't *all that* bad) because I associate the characters with their Japanese voices. I do like testing out the dub to see how good/bad it is, like with Code Geass or Gundam 00 ^_~

That being said, I think anything BONES related have great dubs, so I like watching those dubbed... FMA, Wolf's Rain, Eureka 7, Cowboy Bebop all have excellent dubs :D

One thing I don't mind watching in either are Ghibli movies! Miyazaki stuff sounds good in both English and Japanese, so mostly it's up to whether I feel like reading subs or not ;) I mostly watch them dubbed tho! Ok, end rant :XD:

I'll go either way, it doesn't really matter much to me... However, if there is tons of dialog, I spend more time reading than I do watching :\

I love you :3

Dubs only if I'm bored and watching tv. :3 Otherwise, I'm a sub person. ^_^;;

I said I'm neutral. However, even if a dubbed version was the only thing being offered... there are SOME that are so bad that I can't watch.

Usually I'll watch whatever... but there ARE exceptions.

Subs are better though usually :3 I don't mind them. It's just, I'll watch whatever.

I personally find that I like subs better but I don't really care. sometimes I'll watch a dub if I'm drawing and don't feel like devoting my constant attention to the anime.
